What we collect, and why

WhenDataPurpose and basis
You open a pageTechnical request data (such as IP address and browser type), handled by our hosting provider. To deliver the page and keep the site secure. Our legitimate interest.
You ask Dat a questionThe text you type and the earlier messages in that chat. Your IP address is used briefly to limit how many questions one visitor can ask.To write an answer you asked for, and to prevent abuse. You agree by sending the question. Our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
You send us an ideaThe email address and message you write, only after you send the email yourself. To reply to you. Your consent, given with the checkbox.

We collect nothing else. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. See Cookies.

Chatting with Dat

Dat is an AI assistant. When you send a question, the text is sent to our assistant service and from there to an AI provider (Anthropic) to write the answer. We do not store what you type or what Dat replies. We keep only daily request counts and technical logs such as time, status and message length. The provider handles the text under its own terms and privacy policy. Please do not share personal or sensitive details in the chat. The quick-reply buttons are answered in your browser and send nothing.

Sharing your idea

The form on the Your idea page opens your own email app with the message filled in. Nothing reaches us until you send that email. Emails are received through our email provider and kept only as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.

Who receives data

Cloudflare (hosting, security, email forwarding) and Anthropic (the AI service behind Dat). We do not sell your data. These providers may process data in other countries, including the United States.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write toprivacy@datatch.com. Because we do not store chat text, we can usually only help with emails you have sent us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
